Robert Rydholm

Robert Rydholm, pianist, violinist and translator. Studied piano with professor Carl Tillius, a pupil of Alfred Cortot. Graduated 1993 as an opera repetiteur from the Stockholm Opera Academy. Chorus master and repetiteur at the Malmö Opera, the Värmland Opera and since 1999 pianist at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. His opera repertoire comprehends more than 70 works. He assisted the tenor Giuliano Ciannella in his masterclasses during the 1990´s.

As a chamber musician and piano accompanist he has appeared with Erik Saedén, Ingrid Tobiasson, Annika Skoglund, and Kristina Hammarström among others.

Robert Rydholm translated Giordano´s Andrea Chénier and Humperdinck´s Hänsel and Gretel for stage productions, and a number of operas for surtitles. He worked as a violinist in the Gothenburg Opera orchestra 1980-89.
